The core ethos of The British Emporium is centred around high quality, British designed and made products, sold in a welcoming and unique environment.

With all this in mind, the initial brand was developed to represent classic, distinctive British style with a contemporary edge. Taking inspiration from heraldry and medieval stained glass colour palettes the core brand refined into main crest devices and secondary monogram. We then incorporated bespoke illustrations using British flora and wildlife for application across store and product ranges. The iconography was carefully chosen to reflect tradition and familiarity giving the finished brand a currency of modern Britishness.

A certain rarity, impeccable craftsmanship, high creativity, and refinement. Beneath it all, we have added the notions of ethics, sustainability, sincerity, and meaningfulness to the brand. Quintessentially British, contemporary edge. Distilled.

Waitrose and Partners Garden Party at Dorney Court in Berkshire is the trade event of the calendar, held in aid of industry charity GroceryAid. Quintessentially British, the event brings the finest food and entertainment whilst showcasing Waitrose & Partners’ core values. This year the event raised an incredible £428,000 for the charity.

We were chosen to deliver event branding and associated collateral, both print and digital. Giving the event its own identity while retaining the core Waitrose brand, we created a suite of assets with a fresh and vibrant feel.  Sponsorship recognition, guest engagement and experiential design blended seamlessly with visual details. Working closely with the organisers and sponsors, the event truly was an occasion to remember.

Assured quality, a vibrancy all of its own. Exquisite components, value of tradition, the world stage of food and beverages merged into a clean, vibrant garden party narrative. Elegance and luxury. Distilled.

1903 is Manchester airports flagship premium adults-only lounge. The sophistication and exclusivity the lounge offers gives a meticulously crafted experience for the discerning passenger.

Forged in tradition from the date sealed in history by the Wright brothers first sustained flight in 1903. The brand captures a balance of modernity with a nod to the rich aviation pedigree, using tasteful photography, direction and details, a rich and indulgent colour palette and signature assets were developed. Basic design elements of the 1903 ‘Wright Flyer’ were created to add signature aeronautical graphics which translate beautifully across all collateral.

Working closely with the team at the new state-of -the-art Terminal 2, we ensured the luxury experience was conveyed in emotional shorthand across all mediums, giving the client the ultimate luxury pre-flight experience to start their journey in style.

Epixx systems offers tailored design and installation of smart home technology solutions across a wide range of both residential and commercial sectors.

We were approached by Epixx for a refresh of their established brand. As their business has evolved, they wished to portray a cleaner, more cohesive identity to resonate with their clients. Keeping the monochrome palette, we stripped back and refined the font choices and idents, finally incorporating a new strapline into the identity. Historic icons and devices were again streamlined for inclusion across all collateral.

Photography choices, styling, and choice of finishes for both print and web, added brand value to the company, while the clearer tone of voice lent a currency of clear communication.

Property Alliance Group is a leading cross-sector developer with a 30-year track record in the UK’s most impressive city centre markets. Oxygen Manchester is their latest luxury portfolio addition.

We were approached to conceptualise and direct identity for the Oxygen Manchester development. The brand needed to be modern and energised, reflecting the builds cosmopolitan personality. Working with interior designers and architects the logo and typeface selection led on from our research to complement the modern urban architectural design. Fresh palette choices, site photography and high specification finish collateral completed the ideology that Oxygen is, escaping the ordinary.

The Concorde Conference Centre Manchester boasts a stunning venue creating an unforgettable backdrop for a varied range of events and exhibitions. The purpose-built super hangar showcases the flagship of the British Airways fleet, Concorde. Ultimate icon of modern aviation.

We were thrilled to be invited to conceptualise and direct identity for this unique space. Working closely with the team on site visits, we relied heavily on archival resources to create a sleek, modern brand that retained a presence of history and heritage. The brand device chosen reflected the archetypical beauty of Concorde while hinting to the engineering and innovation of supersonic flight. High specification brand collateral translates seamlessly into events and exhibitions giving clients and visitors a real presence of the elite jet set lifestyle.

APK is a dynamic construction services business with divisions covering Civil Engineering & Groundworks, Demolition & Remediation, Plant Hire & Transport and Aggregates & Recycling.

We approached the branding for APK with the vision to convey reliability and steadfastness. The brand had to be impactful across a wide range of assets and machinery so we selected a heavy lowercase typeface and a simple ‘ribbon’ device for the logo. This developed into variations for APKs many sub brands. With subtle nuances, treatments and palette changes for each, they retain their own personality while remaining under the main brand umbrella.

We have worked with Distilled Design now for a few years and engaged them initially to do brand development as we were in the process of acquiring another business, and wanted branding that could be flexible to accommodate future acquisitions. We were hugely impressed with the new branding and this has now been applied across another 2 acquisitions with the branding continuing to demonstrate its flexibility so much that we have had fantastic feedback on our new branding from other graphic design companies we have worked with.

We find the team very attentive to our often last minute requests, and just get what we want and need as a business to keep our brand performing within the original guidelines. Distilled Design are now further engaged in a much wider role for our business including the production of various other elements of marketing collateral and we look forward to continuing our working relationship with them.

Escape is the newest offering in the heart of the newly built super terminal at Manchester Airport. This billion-pound transformation and state-of-the-art construction offers a true evolution in the passenger experience.

We were approached to conceptualise, direct identity, and produce collateral for Escape lounges. With a family orientated demographic in mind, the brand is fresh and accessible. Photography direction and colour palettes chosen gave a holiday vibrancy, marrying the spacious layout and panoramic views of the lounge to the natural palette of a perfect sunny holiday. With hero and base colours selected a series of recognisable brand motifs were included helping to create a memorable design ethos.

Completed in the most challenging year facing the aviation industry to date, we worked closely with the team to ensure the best possible customer experience. The tone and direction of collateral conveys currency of safety and security, welcoming clients to their international gateway to the world.

The initial brief was to incorporate all the company subdivisions under one main brand to give the whole company a more cohesive feel and a single narrative. Bold colour palette, pattern repeats, and devices gave the identity a dynamism evoking stability and strength.

We were approached to create the brand identity for this epic event. Working within the C4 ethos, we gave the event a modern deconstructed, industrial feel, through the choice of typefaces, vibrant colours and textures. Drawing inspiration from the social style of Manchester’s rich musical heritage. With a multitude of immersive experiences, themed bars and interactive elements, the event gave guests the ultimate C4 experience.
